Meetings to take place on the 4th Tuesday of the month unless otherwise advised

For all day excursions to art galleries in London, we take the first cheap day train either from Hatfield Peverel, Chelmsford, Ingatestone or Shenfield and meet by the barrier at Liverpool Street (unless otherwise informed) and then continue our journey by bus or tube.

For local outings involving cars, we will try and arrange for everyone to have a lift wherever possible.

If anyone has any problems or would like to organise an outing, please contact Brenda on 01277 840621.

Chess - contact Tony Boniface

We meet weekly to enjoy playing chess in each other's homes. At the moment we have three members and need new people to join the group. You do not have to be a grand master.

Church Visiting

For the benefit of new members,  the visits may be to churches, chapels or other places of interest and are usually in the morning of the third Wednesday of the month.  Group members choose which churches they would like to visit and take on the responsibility for finding a guide.  There may be a charge for this, otherwise we suggest a donation of £2 per person for each church visited.

We are organising a coach outing to Peterborough on Wednesday July 18th mainly to enjoy a conducted tour of the cathedral.  There will be time to get refreshments and have a look at the city centre as well as the cathedral grounds.

The total cost of the trip is likely to be about £20 and I will confirm this as soon as possible. We shall leave Chelmsford around 9.30am.  We have booked a 29 seater coach so it is very important that you let me know as soon as possible if you would like to come. Obviously there must be enough of us to make the trip economically viable.

Gardening Group - contact Chris Todd
We love gardening and enjoy both our own and other peoples' gardens!  Why not join us and spend time with like-minded people. We will always try and arrange transport so don't let the lack of a car stop you from enjoying visits to gardens in Essex and the surrounding areas.

If you are interested in joining us, or for a chat about the programme of future visits, then contact Chris or Eileen.
